Little adventurers, big discoveries

There’s plenty to keep younger guests entertained, with outdoor adventures and activities to suit a range of ages and interests. The natural adventure play area is a great place for little ones to let their imaginations run wild, with climbing equipment, swings, slides, balance routes and a zip line to explore. Children can also get behind the wheel with the Mini Land Rover experience, while those aged 6–14 can take on the thrills of Crazi-Bugz, an exciting off-road buggy experience.

For families who love competition, try archery, tackle the climbing wall or challenge each other to a game of tennis, badminton or table tennis. Street karting adds an extra dose of excitement, while Segway tours offer older children a fun way to explore the estate.

However, if you prefer a more relaxed pace, hire bikes and discover the surrounding trails together. With children’s and adult bikes, electric bikes and toddler trailer carts available, it’s easy to plan a family ride that suits everyone.

Our vast grounds also provide habitats for a variety of birds and other wildlife, with possible sightings including ducks, moorhens, rabbits, kingfishers and woodland birds such as blue tits, great tits and long-tailed tits. Make it a family challenge – How many signs of wildlife can you discover along the way?

Follow the Spa Trail

For a relaxed family outing, the Spa Trail is an appealing option. This flat, surfaced route follows a former railway line through woodland and open countryside, providing an opportunity to enjoy the landscape at a comfortable pace.

The trail extends towards Horncastle, making it suitable for families who want to enjoy a longer walk or cycle ride. Its level surface can also make it a useful choice for those looking for a more accessible route, including some pushchair and wheelchair users.

Woodland walks and local history

Woodhall Spa Woods is another lovely place to explore. You could pair a walk with a visit to the village’s much-loved Kinema in the Woods, or head to Ostlers Plantation, which provides an additional point of interest.

Alternatively, if you prefer a flatter route with wide-open views, the Water Rail Way follows the River Witham along a surfaced, traffic-free path. It’s an appealing option for cycling and enjoying the distinctive fenland landscape.

When the weather turns, keep the fun going

November weather can be unpredictable, but there are plenty of ways to keep the whole family entertained. Head to the Games Lounge at The Nest for a little friendly competition, with pool and interactive darts offering a fun alternative when outdoor adventures are off the cards.

For a change of pace, why not enjoy some time in the water together? The heated indoor pool offers scheduled family swimming sessions, as well as separate parent-and-infant sessions for younger guests. Whether you’re winding down after a busy morning or looking for something to do on a rainy afternoon, it’s a lovely way to bring everyone together.

After a day spent exploring, return to a warm, comfortable lodge and put the kettle on. November is made for slower evenings, shared meals and the simple pleasure of having nowhere else you need to be.

As the autumn air cools, your bubbly hot tub becomes a particularly tempting place to unwind. Sink into the warm water, watch the evening draw in and enjoy a little time away from the usual demands of daily life.

Make room for relaxation

Make time to slow down at our adults-only Spa, where relaxation comes naturally. Take a dip in the heated indoor swimming pool, unwind in the sauna or steam room, or explore the thermal wet spa before stepping out onto the outdoor spa terrace, where hot tubs and thermal facilities enable you to relax in the cooler temperatures.

For an even deeper sense of relaxation, choose from a range of massage treatments, including Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone and aromatherapy massages, or indulge in a luxurious ELEMIS facial. Whether you spend your time enjoying a treatment or moving between the spa facilities, it’s the perfect opportunity to recharge and leave feeling refreshed.

You can also tailor your visit with a Morning, Afternoon or Twilight Spa Experience, giving you time to unwind around the rest of your stay. From a peaceful morning in the thermal facilities to a twilight soak in an outdoor hot tub as the evening draws in, autumn brings its own special atmosphere to the experience.
