EXPLORE THE BEAUTY OF LINCOLN
Step back in time

Stroll the atmospheric streets of Lincoln and discover its unique charms, from the magnificent cathedral –once the tallest building in the world - to the sturdy castle, one of the first built by William the Conqueror in 1068. There are Roman walls and a city gate to discover, cobbled lanes to stroll, the aptly named Steep Hill with its medieval stone houses and the Cornhill Quarter packed with boutiques, cafes and independent shops. This is Lincolnshire’s hidden gem, a former Roman regional capital that is beautifully preserved.

HONOUR OUR HEROES
Visit the International Bomber Command Centre

In total, 57,861 men and women gave their lives supporting Bomber Command, and this fascinating centre brings their stories to life for both children and adults. See one of the UK’s tallest war memorials dedicated to the World War Two heroes, stroll the Peace Gardens and follow the interactive trails guided by the IBCC app. You’ll find out what it was like to take part in an operation, to build the planes and the impact of the bombing raids. It’s a fascinating and moving family day out.
